Send us your favorite family recipes!

Browder's Fresh Pickins wants to know how YOU would serve our produce cooked, or al dente!

Simply email us your favorite family recipes at <browdersfreshpickins@gmail.com> and we will choose a few to be featured at the Smithfield Farmers Market and online. At the market we will be handing the recipes out on recycled paper (being earth friendly is important to us!)

This weekend, we will have - SQUASH and ZUCCHINI-, so dig out those cherished recipes from your cabinets or put on your thinking caps to remember how mom, dad, or grandma cooked it best

Thank you for reading and we hope to see you this weekend!

Happy Easter 2014

The greenhouse is full to capacity.  Hundreds of hanging baskets, perennials, vegetable transplants are quickly becoming ready for sale as the last frost date has arrived.

We transplanted hundred of sweet corn transplants on black plastic to provide you the earliest sweet corn we possibly could.  These were planted April 11.

A close up of the sweet corn babies.

Planting bell and yummy peppers on black plastic.  It may seem like a never ending task, and it is.  Notice the 7,000 onions in the right of the photo.  We couldn't do it without the great help that we have.
Browder's Fresh Pickins is offering a novel opportunity this year to reward it's customers.  For only $15 years you can become a member of BFP which rewards you with 10% off all purchases for the rest of 2014.  This include everything from plants to produce.  In addition the first 50 members to sign up will get a free "We're Small Potatoes" t-shirt absolutely free.

10% off all year long and a t-shirt for only $15.

Lamb's ear is a perennial favorite.

There's that great help I was talking about.  This was at the Smithfield Farmer's Market.  It really is one of the better markets in Hampton Roads.

We've got tea lover's bowls with 6 kinds of tea's including 3 mints, chamomile, stevia, and lemon verbena and we've got an "Italiano" herb bowl with basil, thyme, oregano, dill, chives, and parsley.  Both bowls are on sale for $10 each while supplies last.

Don't forget we accept cash, check, and credit cards.
