ALL the berries planted for the 2024 growing season! It took us the better part of 3 weekends, but we were able to plant all 38,000 over 2.5 acres.
Due to transplant availability, our last berry was planted October 22nd, which is a little later than we typically like to have them in the ground. Therefore, we covered them for much of November and half of December to trick the plants into thinking November was October so that they could get the heat units or the growing degree days that they need for crown development. The amount of berries each plant produces in the spring is somewhat pre-determined by the amount of growth that occurs in the fall.
