🌞 Saturday's weather is looking absolutely wonderful! We're nearing the end of the season (not sure of the exact date just yet). There are some ripe berries in the patch, but they are not plentiful, and it will take longer to fill your basket. You can move the green leaves around to find some hidden gems. We will not have any pre-pick berries available for the remainder of the season.

Saturday, May 30th will be the last day for free lettuce. The warm weather has caused it to bolt, so you're welcome to come get all you want for free.

Lettuce is FREE on Friday - the warm weather has caused it to start bolting, so you're welcome to come pick all the lettuce you'd like for free. First come, first serve.

It's a great time to come for some sweet deals on lettuce, spring onions, bedding plants, and sweet potatoes! Grab some on Wednesday to prepare for your Memorial Day weekend celebrations!

As for strawberries, it's far from ideal picking conditions. There aren't many ripe ones in the field, so if you're only seeking berries, it's not the best time to visit.

It looks like a decent chance of rain for most of the next week. We'll close our farm from Thursday, May 21st through at least Monday, May 25th. As for the date for the end of the season, we'll continue monitoring the crop and we'll see what it looks like after several days of rest.

One reason we love growing strawberries is for the challenge it provides to grow a high quality crop. It will always keep you on your toes. The primary challenge this year was the extreme temperature changes of the past few months. This season, pretty much all the berries came ripe during a much smaller window than usual. That made for an incredible April and much slimmer pickins in May. Other strawberry growers in our area are experiencing a similar growing pattern this season.

That being said, we'll be open Monday through Wednesday, May 18 - 20, 9AM - 1PM. The strawberry pickin' is quite slim, and it will take longer to fill a basket.

The lettuce, spring onions, and sweet potatoes are plentiful!

Light Picking this week

 

While the patch has rested for a couple of days, the weather hasn't helped ripening as much as we would have hoped. Right now, we're in a lull for ripe berries. We have a slate of field trips scheduled this week, so we'll remain open with our regular hours. However, it will take much longer to fill your basket as compared to a few weeks ago during the peak of the season.

We will not have any pre-picked berries available for purchase this week. Yes, we'll still have our pre-pick CSA pick up during the regular time on Thursday.

We have plenty of u-pick lettuce & spring onions available. We also have some bedding plants available as well.

Patch Update: We have had a tremendous number of people come to pick berries today!! The quantity of ripe berries in the field is dwindling fast, so it is taking much longer to fill your baskets.

Bedding Plant sales are steady, and we have a big sale happening today, so we'll remain open for that until 5PM today, Saturday, May 9. We also have plenty of lettuce, sweet potatoes, and spring onions available, but the quantity of strawberries is getting quite slim.
