Closing for the 2023 Season

  

Hello! It looks like lots of rain headed our way. We strive for your picking experience to be pleasant each time you visit our farm. The heat of June combined with a week of rain is going to significantly decrease the quality of the strawberries. With this in mind, we've decided to go ahead and close the farm for the 2023 season, ahead of all this rain. We had been hoping that the weather would cooperate to allow just a bit more time for picking, but the 7 day forecast isn't looking promising, so we've decided it's time. Thank you for your incredible support of our small family farm! 😊

OPEN, Monday, Juneteenth, 8AM - 1PM

 

It was great to see so many of you this weekend! The strawberry patch was fairly well picked today, but we anticipate with this heat overnight that more will ripen. We also have u-pick yellow squash, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, and string beans available too!

📸 A cool treat to beat the heat! Lucy made milkshakes & we had a little left over, so Henry used the extra to make some popsicles - YUM! Shout out to my cousin Babs for the fun strawberry popsicle holders 🍓💕

Summertime is HERE! There are tons of strawberries, yellow squash, and zucchini in the fields. We also have some string beans & cherry tomatoes too!

✅ U-pick cherry tomatoes: $3.50/pint. We provide the pint containers. Orange Sungold & Red Super Sweet 100. Located in the smaller greenhouse, directly across the tent.

 It's a great time of year to pick a variety of produce at Browder's Fresh Pickins! Everything pictured here is what we have currently have available for u-pick. The strawberries are the most abundant - loads of berries in the field!! There's also plenty of yellow squash & zucchini (yellow & green). Lastly, we have have string beans and cherry tomatoes - orange (Sungold) & red (Super Sweet 100). Thank you for supporting our small family farm 😊

After a day of rest the patch is loaded with ripe berries!! Tuesday's SALE: mention this post to our cashier when you check out for $5 OFF EACH BASKET of strawberries you pick! Sale is valid Tuesday, 6/13/23

Our u-pick yellow squash and zucchini is also plentiful & delicious!

Our cherry tomatoes are continuing to produce a few pints a day, and although the string beans were picked extensively last week, they're starting to make a come back too! We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday!

Closed Monday, June 12th

 

Many thanks to everyone who came out this weekend to pick strawberries, yellow squash, zucchini, string beans, and cherry tomatoes! We'll be Closed on Monday, June 12th. Several folks have asked how much longer we expect to be picking strawberries. The unusually cool spring has allowed for an extended season. Though it's tough to precisely predict, we think that we'll be open for about 3 more weeks. Thank you so much for your continued support of our small family farm 😊

We have a boatload of sweet berries ready to be picked! We spent the day mowing the patch so it's nice and clean. This weather is perfect for making some homemade strawberry milkshakes!

There are more ripe strawberries in the field now than there have been all week! I came home after work today and picked a basket in less than 10 minutes. They're delicious!

The berries are ripe and delicious! All five varieties are currently producing (Sweet Charlie, Ruby June, Chandler, Merced, and Festival). When I pick, I like to get some from one area, then head to a different area so I can get some different varieties, sizes, flavors, etc.

Jake gave me some canvases & paint for Christmas. This is my first time painting on a canvas and it was so much fun!

The strawberries are continuing to ripen each day! We are thankful for this extended season. The flavor this time of year is fantastic! Come on out and pick a few baskets 😊

📸 Some folks have asked us about the flowers in the patch. Most are marigolds which are great companion plants for our berries. But some are just flowers we planted because they're pretty 💕

The berries have been loving this sunshine! 🌞 Come on out & pick a basket or three! The flavor this time of year is phenomenal.

We also have lots of yellow squash & zucchini too! Try making some zucchini bread with fresh zucchini - YUM! If savory's more your style, grilled zucchini & yellow squash with soy sauce is hard to beat!

PS: Shout out to the two winners of our prizes today! Great news - only half of the prizes we hid in the patch were found today, which means there's still a couple of eggs out there that have a coupon for a free basket of u-pick berries! 🍓🍓

Friday could be your lucky day! Not only will you find a patch full of ripe berries, but Henry has hidden 4 Easter eggs around the patch that contain prizes. Three are in the strawberry rows and contain a coupon for a free basket of berries! One is in the squash rows and contains a coupon for $10 worth of free zucchini & yellow squash.
