Quick Farm Update: There have been A LOT of folks picking this weekend - thank you! There aren't hardly any ripe berries left in the patch. Ever tried zucchini & yellow squash in the air fryer? It's amazing! Random fact: You can check out this air fryer from our library in town. Shout out to the Blackwater Regional Library - love their "Library of Things." I wanted to try out an air fryer before I made the commitment (of my counter space). I'm sold. I tossed these zucchini & yellow squash with olive oil, salt, & pepper - YUM!

What a beautiful day!! Thanks so much for ALL the folks that came out to pick today! The strawberry patch was picked pretty hard today, and we're nearing the end of the season, so it isn't as plentiful as it once was. Life Cycle of the Strawberry

Our U-pick strawberry patch is open all week, 8AM - 6PM. 🍓 The flavor of the berries right now is excellent! We grow three varieties of berries - come on out & pick a basket from each section. The patch is loaded with ripe, delicious berries!

We were out walking the patch tonight and the Sweet Charlie's there in Section 1 have some size on them and the flavor is awesome. Strawberry patch is OPEN this weekend, Saturday & Sunday, 8AM - 6PM.  The.berries.are.everywhere!  The weather hasn't exactly been ideal this past week, but we SURE DO appreciate those who have come out to pick.  If you're looking to get some more berries before the season is over, I'd come on out this weekend.  The exact length of the season is tough to predict, but it's largely dependent on the weather and how well the plants get picked.  The season won't last too many more weeks, so don't delay, come pick some baskets this weekend!  There are tons of high quality, ripe, delicious berries all over the patch.  You can't get any fresher than pick-your-own!

The Sweet Charlies in Sections 1 & 4 have a bit more size to them than they did a week or two ago, though there are fewer of them. After a day and a half of rest, our strawberry fields are bursting with delicious juicy berries!  The heat from today really ripened them up nicely.  We just picked a couple baskets after dinner tonight and there are currently more ripe berries in the patch than there have been all season.  Our u-pick strawberry patch in Smithfield will be OPEN Tuesday, 8AM - 6PM, and we're having a TUESDAY SALE - Buy 2 Baskets of berries, get a 4-Pack of bedding plants for FREE!  We have a variety of flowers, herbs, and vegetable transplants.

There are a TON of ripe berries in the patch - we picked these baskets in less than 12 minutes.  We grow three different varieties of strawberries and all three are currently ripe, so feel free to grab some from each of the picking sections :-)    

Looking at the week ahead...we will be OPEN Tuesday through Sunday 8AM - 6PM for both strawberries and bedding plants.
