OPEN Friday, May 16, 9AM - 5PM

🌻 Our sunflowers are blooming! We planted a bunch of sunflowers in our strawberry patch this season. They're ready to pick! U-pick sunflowers are 10 for $10 or $1.50 ea. Simply cut the stem at the base using the same clippers that we used for the lettuce. The best time to pick sunflowers is when you can first start to see the colorful petals. That way they'll last longer in your house 🌞

U-Pick zucchini & yellow squash are plentiful! The spring onions are continuing to grow and taste amazing grilled with the squash and zucchini. The strawberry picking is a bit slimmer right now, given all the recent rain.

Looking ahead to Saturday, we'll be OPEN, 8AM - 5PM. If you'll be in town Saturday, be sure to check out the Smithfield Arts Festival along Main Street in Downtown Smithfield, less than 5 miles away from our farm. The event celebrates visual, performing, culinary, and literary arts and is held from 9 AM to 4 PM with free admission. Artists, fine crafters, authors, performances and food will make this a fun and exciting event for all ages. Be sure to stop by the interactive "Collaborative Art" stations to participate in the community art banners. Art supplies will be provided, all ages are invited to participate. While you're there, but sure to stop by the VA250 Mobile Museum. Titled 'Out of Many, One,' this hands-on, interactive and immersive museum on wheels will be parked next to the Isle of Wight County Museum until Saturday at 4PM before traveling to its next destination with key stories of Virginia’s rich history. It's free too!
